Who we are
Forgotten Manifest is made by Duelex LLC, in Colorado, USA. Questions about anything on this page: support@duelex.com.
What the game keeps
- Your character. The name you chose, your password (kept only in a scrambled form that can't be turned back into the password), and your character's progress: what you carry, your levels, where you've been.
- Devices that remember you. If you tick "Remember me", your device keeps a key and the server keeps a scrambled copy of it. It's forgotten after 60 days unused, or when you choose "Log out and forget me".
- Your email, only if you add one. It's used for two things: sending you a code when you forget your password, and telling you if the email on your character is changed or removed. Nothing else: no newsletters, and it's never sold or shared. You see it partly hidden in Settings, and other players never see it.
- Chat. What you say goes to the players around you. Your recent chat (the last 100 lines, up to a day) is kept in the server's memory so you can scroll back, and it's gone when the server restarts. When a player is reported, muted or banned, the chat around it is saved with the report or the decision so it can be reviewed.
- Moderation. Mutes, kicks and bans, with their reasons, are kept with the character and in a record the game's staff can read.
- Crash reports. If the game hits an error or crashes, it sends a short report: the game's version, whether it's a PC or a phone, the error, and the game's last few log lines. Your name, password, email, chat and internet address are taken out first, and the report is kept without who sent it. You can turn this off in Settings ("Send crash reports").
- Your internet address. The server uses it while you're connected, to limit how many connections and login tries come from one place. Those counts are kept in memory for up to an hour. The server's log can note the address of a connection it turns away, and that log is replaced when the server restarts.
What we don't do
- No ads, no tracking, and nothing about you is sold or shared.
- This website sets no cookies. It loads its fonts from Google Fonts, so Google sees your browser ask for them.
Who else handles it
- Email is sent through Google (Google Workspace), which is given the address and the message to deliver and keeps its own delivery records.
- The game's servers are run by us, on machines we own or rent from a hosting company. This website is hosted by Hostinger.
- A world a friend hosts from the game runs on their machine. We don't see it.
Steam and Google Play
- Buying the game there. A purchase on Steam or Google Play is between you and them, under their own privacy terms. We never get your payment details.
- What the game takes from Steam. Only the Steam version uses Steam, and only to play in a world with friends: your Steam ID and your friends', so that only the friends in your world's Steam lobby can join it; the Steam name of the friend whose world you join, to say whose world it is; Steam's own invites and Join Game; and Steam's relay, which carries the game between you and your friends. Your world's name, its ID and the game's version are put in its lobby so your friends' games can find it. None of this reaches our servers, and your Steam account is not your character: on our servers you play with your own name and password, whichever version you have.
- Google Play. The phone version takes nothing from your Google Play account.
How long
Your character, and its email if you added one, are kept while your character exists. You can take the email off at any time in Settings. To have your character deleted, see Deleting your character below. Moderation records may be kept longer, so a banned player can't simply come back.
A copy of your data
In the game, open Settings and, under Account, press Download my data. It saves one file of everything the game keeps about your character, written so you can read it: on a PC it goes to your Downloads folder, and on a phone you choose where to keep it.
Deleting your character
In the game, open Settings and, under Account, press Delete my character. Type your character's name and your password, and it is set to be deleted 14 days later. The game logs you out, and if there is an email on the character, it is told the date.
Changed your mind? Log in by that day: the game asks if you want to keep the character, and Keep it stops the deletion. Once the day is over, your character is deleted with everything it has: what it carries, its vault, its farm and plot, its email and the devices that remember it. If the character is banned, a record of the ban is kept, so a banned player can't simply come back.
Can't get into the game? Write to support@duelex.com from the email on your character, or ask us how else to show it's yours, and we'll delete it for you.
Players under 13
Forgotten Manifest is for players 13 and older. If you're younger, please don't play or give us an email. If a parent or guardian tells us a child under 13 has a character, we'll delete it.
Your choices
- See, change or remove your email in Settings.
- Turn crash reports off in Settings.
- Get a copy of what we keep about you, or delete your character, in Settings (how), or ask at support@duelex.com. Where you live may give you more rights over your information; ask at the same address.
Players in the UK and the European Union
- Who is responsible. Duelex LLC, in Colorado, USA, decides what the game keeps and why. Write to us at support@duelex.com.
- Why each thing is kept. Your character, the devices that remember you, your email if you add one and your recent chat are kept because the game needs them: to run your character, to let you back in, and to let you scroll back through what was said. The rest is kept to keep the game safe and fair: your internet address for its security, the moderation records and the chat saved with a report or a decision so they can be reviewed, and crash reports to find and fix what goes wrong.
- Where it is kept. The game's servers are in the United States, so everything the game keeps about you is stored and handled there.
- Your rights. You can ask for a copy of your information, have it corrected or deleted, object to how it is used, and take it with you to use elsewhere. In the game, Download my data gives you a copy, in a file you can take anywhere, and Delete my character deletes your character and what is kept with it (how); for anything else, write to support@duelex.com. We answer within a month.
- Complaints. You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office in the UK (ico.org.uk), or to the data protection regulator where you live. We'd like the chance to put it right first.
Players in California
- Do Not Track. Your browser may send a "Do Not Track" signal. The game and this website don't follow you across other sites at all, so the signal changes nothing here.
- Other companies. No other company collects information about you here to follow you across other sites: there are no ads, trackers or analytics in the game or on this website. The only thing this website loads from elsewhere is its fonts, as said above.
Changes
If this page changes, its date at the top changes too, and anything big is said in the changelog.
